the perks of working from homeWorking from home has many perks. In this post I mention a few, some of them are illustrated on the infographic below the post.

I can work in my PJs

That’s probably the one perk we hear the most often. I don’t know how true it really is, it doesn’t apply to me (unless checking your e-mails counts as working). But what it translates to is essentially that people who work from home, don’t need to spend 1 hour in the bathroom every morning, can wear their oldest jeans & sweaters and most comfortable slippers. That definitely applies to me.

I save money

Not having to wear the latest fashion to work every day, also means that people who work from home save money on their wardrobe. Add to that the savings for lunches out and commuting and it really represents some substantial savings.

I help the environment

Not driving my car to work everyday reduces my carbon footprint and helps saving the environment.

I’m happier

According to research, people who work from home are less stressed, eat healthier, have a better work-life balance and are therefore happier!

What about you?

Now it’s your turn? Are you working from home? Do you agree with the above or do you also see some pitfalls? I look forward to your insights below!

great post, I really agree, there are a lot of perks. And PJ’s wearing also :D I’m really glad I can work from home, and have my own timeline when and what to do. For me, as a designer, there is just one disadvantage – sometimes I miss personal possibilities to consult my ideas with team. But there are alternative solutions as skype, hangout or just chat :)

Hi Sue, thanks for stopping by. Yes, I do sometimes miss a team as well to brainstorm some ideas. Thank goodness there’s always Skype ;-)

I agree, I don’t know what PJ’s are, so that does not apply. I don’t own a car, but I ride a bike. Riding is not pleasant in wintertime. I have a cell phone and able to get a lot done.

I work part time at home, in the mornings. I have a part time job. It’s tough because when things come up, I have to leave which is frustrating. Thank goodness for my Blackberry but even that is limiting. My goal is to make working from home my full time occupation. But until then, I am going to save my pennies for cell phone upgrade. Hmm, perhaps a Samsung Galaxy? :) LOL Thanks for the post Sarah!
